I've been thinking about starting a blog for a couple of years now. I actually started a photoblog on Tumblr when I first moved from the Philippines to San Francisco, CA in 2011 so my family could keep track of me and know I was alive and well 8,000 miles and a whole different timezone from home. But as things go, my new life ate up more time than I had thought, and the photoblog posts that began as daily updates soon dropped to weekly posts; two months into the project, I had abandoned it completely. I updated my family in weekly Skype video chats instead, and that seemed to work for everyone anyway.
I am truly hoping this blog fares better. There's so much to say, I don't even know where to begin. As for what this will be about, instead of zoning in on one topic, which I fear will bore even me, the blog will be about day-to-day experiences of a woman and a new wife, both of which I happen to be.
The title is a goal I have set for myself. It also is an allusion to my love of shoes. It seems I grasp topics and new ideas quicker when they're likened to shoes. But I digress.
As any person knows, the ideal is not always what is achieved. I will try to live my life in sensible shoes, but my high heels will win on some days. Now as to what this will bring, even I have to wait and see.
